Legislative Consultant
The Legislative Consultant of Blue Water Fishermen’s Association is Glenn Roger Delaney. Glenn has worked with BWFA since 1995.
Glenn began his career commercial fishing in New England, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Florida Keys in the 1970’s while securing a BS degree in Biology from Union College in New York. He also holds a MS degree in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, where he was awarded the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. He served on Capitol Hill for 7 years under his mentor, the former Senator John Breaux, as professional staff on the Subcommittee on Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation and the Environment in the U.S. House of Representatives, and in the U.S. Senate staffing the Senator’s Maritime Subcommittee and his fisheries and trade legislative agendas. Glenn’s unusual career also includes stints as an alligator farmer, bluefin tuna dealer, and COO of an international trading company with operations in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Glenn has been appointed to many scientific and management advisory panels to the federal government and was appointed by President Clinton to serve for nine years as U.S. Commissioner to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT).
Glenn is the proud father of a political science major at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and an accomplished graphic artist attending Syracuse University in New York. He lives in the Virginia suburbs with his very lovely wife Andrea.
